I haven’t sent out a newsletter in some time and wanted to stay in touch.  We continue to do the Farmer’s Markets in Londonderry and Dorset each week, weather permitting, and they are very busy markets.

The downturn in the economy has its good points and bad points, and one of the good things is that until now, I have never had enough original paintings to have a show.  I now have quite a few on hand, so I have scheduled a show and sale at the In View Center for the Arts at the Landgrove Inn.  It will run from August 7 through August 15, 2010.  The opening wine and cheese reception will be August 7,  5 – 7 p.m., and we would love to see you there!

Earlier this season I taught a Rufus Porter style painting class at the Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts in Ludlow, and also did a vinegar graining lecture/demo at The Gallery at the Vault in Springfield.  My work is now available at the Vault, which has been designated as a Vermont State Craft Center.

We have been doing a bit more advertising recently, and participated in a co-op ad in Yankee Magazine through the Okemo Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce.  We are hopeful it will bring more business to our website and gallery.

I am trying to catch up on my house portrait commission paintings and get a few other paintings done.  This past winter I painted a Florida painting entitled “Jazzy Jacaranda” which is a fun painting of a jacaranda tree in full bloom, and includes tropical birds and an alligator.  Click here for a direct link to the image.
